It is the cross dressers this time

You see them at the traffic lights. Most commonly.

You see them when somebody is getting married.

You see them when somebody has had a baby.

You see them when you are throwing a house warming party.

They know the occasion and they come to be a part of the celebration.

Money, is what they demand.

And if you refuse to give the green bucks then you will be jinxed for they are believed to bring bad luck.

Yes, I am talking about the tranny, or the transgender individuals.

Some of you might be astonished as to what a weird topic it is to read (and even to write). But seriously, I am quite surprised by these people.

Recently, we got a house built. Infact, the construction is still in progress and we are not even half way through. But we moved in because the builder was taking a long time to get the house ready. And we have these unwelcomed guests coming almost every single day demanding a huge sum of money. Any guesses as to how much money they have demanded. Thousand bucks? Ten thousand bucks? Twenty Thousand? Fifty thousand? No, thats too less. They want a minimum of One Lakh Rupees. Every morning, they celebrate our arrival in the new house by singing and dancing. They sit at the entrance of the door and argue with us.

But, they do not move. And when they get tired of arguing they promise to return the next day.

And the whole circle starts again.

Sometimes, infact most of the times, it is a pain to see them block our way and dance.

But what can possibly be done.

Will it help if we call the police?

I dont think so. They have a complete syndicate.

Do we pay them? A hundred thousand bucks? Cash?

And if we dont pay them and let them be, won't they bring bad luck as is assumed.

And why would they bring bad luck?

Only because they have a penis and have breasts and dress up like women but look like men.

Pardon the little knowledge that I have on this subject because neither have I ever googled about them nor have I talked about them.

Why are they supposed to have a "buri nazar". How does it happen? Though I have heard a lot of stories of people getting evil fate if they do not fulfill their demands. But isn't it insane to demand one lakh rupees from a person who has just spent a fortune in building a house.

The worst part is that they know that people fear them. They know that people may be apprehensive about giving away a huge sum of money but they would still get it only because people do not want to invite trouble.. nahi to buri nazar lag jayegi..

surely a different thing to write about, but i seriously liked it ya...!!

and my mind is still dancing with the 1 lakh figure....!!

and ur post compelled if to google about them, will let you know, if i find something interesting...!

M@ria said...

ha ha ha..they actually station themselves outside ur place!! Oh! my goodness! This is crazy!

I dont believe in all this buri nazar and ill fate these people can bring! its just superstition! really! its just a trick which does business for them, v r so superstitious and scared...and these people exploit and make money!

I think a few more days & eventually they will get tired & leave. Cops might not be such a good idea. Quite a few of such groups r known to be involved in petty offences and crimes...so just ignore or maybe bargain and let them off in 500 - 1000 bucks!

@ease said...

hmm... serious issue..!!

But think about them, they have no other source of income but to beg. we, the so called educated people should come up and work out some income model for them so that they don have to beg for food/money.

Chanz said...

@ Sepo : Lol.. please do... not that I am interested in themm but just out of curiosity... :P

Chanz said...

@ Maria : you are absolutely right.. We are superstitious.. And to a great extent.. We rewally do not want to take any pangas with ill fate.. and you are talking 500-1000.. we kept 10,000 bucks in front of them, but they returned that...

Chanz said...

@ @ease: ou have a point here.. I agree that this their their only source of income but there is something known as "haraam ki kamaai".... that is what they are indulging in... On the roads, when we see beggars, we dont ive them money coz they can work and earn for a living.. and so can the cross dressers.. Ofcourse they can earn.. they dont have to wear nice nice dresses and dance in front of the crowds and scare them out of their money... perhaps, they can work.. do some real work.. I don't know... Its weird...

Surbhi Jain said...

Hahaha... Even i am afraid of them.. Not because "buri nazar" but bacause, they look scary :P

And i agree that they donot have any source of income but do you know nowadays, guys are forced to become eugenics! I find it so lamentable!!

Chanz said...

@ Surbhi : Really..?? I didnt know they could choose.. I mean seriously..

Surbhi Jain said...

Yes.. Long time back I read an article that stated this!!
I will try and look for that article and give you the link!
But Its a complete disgraceful act!!

Chanz said...

yaa.. please do.. I would love to read that... but when i read this, I was like eeeeewwwwww...

Surbhi Jain said...

Yes.. I felt the same! Its a little tough to read about such things! But now when I know that, I am pitiful!

Sakshi said...

Ohkay yeah, these eunuchs are a pain in the ass. They have atleast come to your place when you are getting the house done, they have now started demanding money on traffic lights too.. I mean, if you happen to be of the opposite sex and on the bike you have had it... it is EMBARRASSING once they start harassing you that too in front of the entire traffic...

Something has to be done about it...

Surbhi Jain said...

What I feel is that they are very used to the income without any pains! So even if Government tries to help them, It wont be of any use!

Chanz said...

@ Surbhi : I know yaa... I dont know how can anyone help them.. I feel sad when i see them but I am the one who is scared when they come close to me.. I am scared to help...

Chanz said...

@ Sakshi : Yeah.. I have faced this situation in an auto.. I was super scared and gave them 10 bucks.. they kept their hands on my head as if they were giving me a blessing.. Dont know.. Weird..

Siddhesh 'Ravan' Kabe said...

chandz truly these people are actually everywhere and I do have some very hilarious experience with them....

sharing them right now...

p.s. thanks to u, i remembered something and finally writers block is overcome...:D

oRange* said...

Oh, I'm petrified of them! Once I was so scared, I gave one of them 10 bucks without thinking :|

Readers Dais said...

we dont hve this kind of experience in south india nor here in the desert where i am now,
still my advice is never give that money,( u can donate a small amount) whatever is in stock for u in ur life is going to come, they are in no way related to it,.. aha losing 1 lakh itself is a bad luck yaar, and they are the reason so....take it out from ur mind, see it as some festival season and some dance happening in your neighbourhood....and live ur life.....

Atul said...

... i wanted to write something about 'em however i guess already a lot of readers have offered help with research... (google will be wondering ki aaj ho kya raha hai!) ... and while it is easy to ignore them @ the traffic lights and other places ... there 'dharna' outside ur house is surely an embarassingly sticky situation... don't 'bribe' the bastards... and pray they get some moti aasaami elsewhere... take care

Chanz said...

@ SID : lol... i read that... :)

Chanz said...

@ Orange : ditto happened with me too...

Chanz said...

@ Readers Dais : I am surprised.. and you are so lucky to live in the south... Atleast you can save your skin from these horrid people..

Chanz said...

@ Atul : Sadly, they are thinking that we are the moti asaami for them.. But soon they will come to realise that baniyas are no good when it comes to money.. :D

Wicked Witch of the West said...

Oh, they are scary. Definitely. Fortunately I did not encounter too many, and managed to be in the middle of a phone call at the time so after a while they gave up and left me alone. I would not like to have to deal with them on a daily basis at all! I agree that they have other options...even if still retaining this dress and sticking to the 'good luck' or entertainment...plus of course 'usual work'. It is sad if someone's capacity to earn is lesser, but they are certainly not the only ones. Reminds me how lucky we are here too that those who do have problems finding work can still get some payments from the government.

Chanz said...

@ Cathy : True cathy... They are scary...

Nalini Hebbar said...

they have a strong syndicate and close bondings since they are social rejects...maybe you should get help from the police!

Chanz said...

@ Cathy : True cathy... They are scary...

Chanz said...

@ Nalini : I dont think police will be of any help.. I am sure these people have bribed the police too.. :(

First of all , Congrats 4 d new home dear..

N I also dnt knw much abt dem but I knw that they spend majority chunk f their income on medicines bcz their monthly cost f medicines is very high as dese people r not normal.

So , i dnt thnk tht considering all the above facts described above. it z a sin to give dem money.

Yes , regardng street side cross dressers, I will say that some unnecssary pretnd themselvs as sixers n demand money which is not right.

I hve never seen any company hiring them for work or studying in school so if we want to improve the society many things hve to be considered starting 4m their birth itself..

@ease said...

@ Swati: rightly said, we jus cant blame them for what they are, as they are not born like this by choice.

I insist, we should come up and plan some income model or come up with some social activities (NGOs) to raise their standards.

I am happy seeing so many comments on such a weired topic, taken by chanz.
May be chanz is a leader and can help the eununch with her ideas.

Chanz said...

@ Sorcy : why dont u give us an insight on these evasive maneuvers.. maybe i could try them sometime.. :D

Chanz said...

@ Swati : thanks a lot sweety...

I didnt know that they get some treatment done.. or even take medicines... Does this really happen.. I mean how can this abnormality get cured by merely taking some medicines.. I dont have much knowledge abt it but according to me, sex change is the only option.. maybe... i dont know... And obviously they do not have so much money to get a sex change done..

Chanz said...

@ @ease : Well.. its a good idea but it will be very tough.. Its difficult to raise money even for the normal people who may fall into different categories of oldies, orphans or even physically impaired people... how in the world would anybody donate for the eunuch... its not easy.. it requires a complete change in the mind set of the people...

Frankly, they are looked down upon.. Its difficult to raise their standards.. an NGO for such people, m afraid, wont work...

@ease said...

@chanz: there are loadz of NGOs already working. Instead of a women reservation, we should empower them 1st.

Chanz said...

thats the whole point... people would still prefer to empower women than work towards theor welfare... It involves a complete change in the mentality of the indians...

@ease said...

do check my take on this. Visit: http://atishvishal.blogspot.com/2010/04/eunuchs-trans-genders.html

The Bald Guy said...

I feel for you. They bothered me too once and I finally took my gun out and scared them away! Bwahahahaha! That was fun!

And when they said we'll dance if you don't pay, I told them to dance completely naked and I would make a video of it and post it on the net and send it to the news folks right then and there in front of them. That helped too!

Bwahahahahaha!

Don't give in to them. Seriously, don't.

Chanz said...

@ TBG : Whaaaat... Are you serious.. My God... Thats even more scary.. Now I am feeling bad for them

Shivani said...

I'm scientifically superstitious.. and I believe in evil fate n such.. but their demands are totally unreasonable and there's no way they should be considered. I mean, you can't possibly keep paying every street walker for the fear of getting a good fate. If your deeds are good, no gender or transgender can bring you ill fate. Call the cops. If they don't listen, reach out to the higher authorities than police inspectors. This is unlawful.

Chanz said...

@ Shivani : I know... The 1 lakh figure is just too much... and guess what... the neighbours gave them too... 51,000 bucks... shit man... I was literally abusing my neighbours when i came to know dis..

Nipun said...

Its totally different scene out here.
There was a time when the fake eunuchs were increasing in number for the money thing.
As the real ones came to know about his, they got themselves registered and the administration here gave them an ID approved by the Govt.
They went to everyone's house and told everybody that if someone refuses to show his/her identity, then please call on the real one's number.
This was a success..
In ur case I can't say anything. Just get away with them by hook or by crook. Ask for an identity..:P
U can always postpone things after all. The money is with you.

Cheers

Nuts

p.s. Congos for the new house...:)
Party to banti h boss..

Really nice and very aptly put. I've encountered this as well but never really had any bad experience.

Neha said...

In mumbai when you are traveling in auto rikshaw they actually touch you and when you not notice them they curse you under their breath!

But I personally don't believe in curses or that they are in anyway real...

Hope you get rid of them soon...

:)

Saurabh Panshikar said...

Yucks I stay as far away as possible from them...

And what more bad luck than losing a lakh rupees to some worthless ppl who blackmail for a living...

Chanz said...

@ Nipun : asking for their ID card is a good idea actually... but if we ask for their ID cards, it doesnt solve the problem of paying them 1 lakh rupees for nothing at all..

Chanz said...

@ Rashmi : You are a lucky girl.. :)

Chanz said...

@ Neha : hope so... (Sigh)

Chanz said...

@ Saurabh : lol.. i know... thats bad luck..
